Joseph H. Montoya

Post Doctoral Researcher - Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

My research goal is to understand electrocatalytic reaction mechanisms in order to design more stable and active catalysts for electrochemical energy conversion technologies. Specifically, my interests include CO2 electroreduction on transition metal catalysts, particular for the synthesis of higher hydrocarbons, and total H2O splitting on perovskite oxides. My former research interests and positions have included metal recycling via electrowinning of spent NiMH battery materials at KMUTT in Bangkok, Thailand, and bimetallics in hydrogenation of multi-functional olefins and acetylene at the University of South Carolina in the Monnier/Williams group.
