SUNCAT Institute and Sessions

The SUNCAT Institute is the outreach arm of the SUNCAT Center for Interface Science and Catalysis. The SUNCAT Institute comprises a series of virtual events that will highlight and explore the latest advances in catalysis and interfacial science.

We are currently hosting two broad categories of virtual events:

  • The 2022 SUNCAT Sessions - Monthly, 8am-9am PT - A space for leading researchers from around the world to discuss their views on the central questions and most promising directions in catalysis research. In each session, two panelists will give a ~15-20 min presentation followed by a ~20-30 min Q&A panel.
    • Our April 2022 SUNCAT Session, Theoretical take on Stability and Activity factors in Catalysis, will be on Wednesday, April 27th from 8-9 am PT.  SUNCAT Staff Scientist Michal Bajdich will host a session with invited talks from and discussion between between Prof. Heine Hansen (Technical University of Denmark) and Prof. Ambarish Kulkarni (University of California, Davis) on their latest efforts toward understanding factors that govern catalyst stability under operating conditions. Register here.
  • The SUNCAT Summer Institute - The 2021 SUNCAT Summer Institute was held August 16th - August 19th 2021. Please join us in 2023 for the next Summer Institute!

If you would like to receive reminders about upcoming SUNCAT Sessions events or the next SUNCAT Summer Institute, please fill out the web-form here: Subscribe/Unsubscribe

We look forward to hosting SUNCAT Institute events in-person again in the near future, including the SUNCAT Summer Institute in 2023!
