In my group we utilize high-resolution transmission electron microscopy to characterize the structure of important engineering materials at the nano-scale. Current research includes analysis of microelectronic and magnetic thin films for a wide range of uses from solar cells to magnetic hard drives. In addition, we utilize electron microscopy to study the conjugation of nanoparticles to biological materials for cancer research.
