SUNCAT Summer Institute 2017: Fundamentals and Applications of Heterogeneous Catalysis

Following decades of tradition, SUNCAT hosts a Summer Institute on Fundamentals and Applications of Heterogeneous Catalysis between August 14 and August 18, 2017 at Stanford University. In this Institute, we bring together world experts in the fields of computational catalysis, thermal catalysis, and electrocatalysis, to provide participants with both advanced tutorial-style presentations and research talks. Fundamental concepts in catalysis research and characterization, and latest research on advanced materials for catalytic processes and sustainable pathways to fuels and chemicals will be the focus of this year’s Institute. A special section will be dedicated to “challenging transformations”, that will provide participants with insight views on some of the most exciting and formidable challenges in catalysis. The close nature of the event allows participants and speakers to tightly interact and discuss, and provide a unique opportunity to meet experts in the field. The Institute is particularly appealing for graduate students and early career researchers chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or materials science, with an interest in experimental or theoretical studies of surface chemical processes and their applications in energy and environmental catalytic transformations.
