SUNCAT Institute and Sessions

The SUNCAT Institute is the outreach arm of the SUNCAT Center for Interface Science and Catalysis. The SUNCAT Institute comprises a series of virtual events that will highlight and explore the latest advances in catalysis and interfacial science.

We are hosting two broad categories of virtual events:

  • The SUNCAT Summer Institute - The 2023 SUNCAT Summer Institute is here! Please join us from Aug. 7-th to Aug. 11-th, 2023.
  • The 2022 SUNCAT Sessions - Monthly, 8am-9am PT - A space for leading researchers from around the world to discuss their views on the central questions and most promising directions in catalysis research. In each session, two panelists will give a ~15-20 min presentation followed by a ~20-30 min Q&A panel.
    • Our June 2022 SUNCAT Session, Theoretical X-ray Spectroscopy and Activity & Stability of Bimetallic Catalysts, will be held on Thursday, June 23rd from 8-9 am PT. SUNCAT Staff Scientist Johannes Voss will host a session with invited talks by, and discussion between, Prof. Claudia Draxl (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) and Prof. Manos Mavrikakis (Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison).
